This Agreement does not transfer from Varsity Trades to you any intellectual property belonging to us or third parties. All right, title, and interest in and to such property will remain solely with Varsity Trades and its licensors.

Accounts

Where use of our Services requires an account, you agree to provide complete and accurate information when registering. You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must keep your account credentials secure and notify us immediately of any unauthorised access or security breach.

Product Listing Guidelines

Varsity Trades is committed to a clear, user-friendly experience for vendors and buyers. The following guidelines apply to all product listings:

One Product Per Listing: Each listing must represent a single product. Vendors may include variations such as size or colour within one listing, but may not combine unrelated products under the same listing page.
Misuse of Listings: Any listing found to violate the one-product-per-page policy will be subject to review and may be flagged for correction or removal at the discretion of Varsity Trades.
Separate Listings for Different Products: Vendors wishing to sell different products must create a separate listing for each, using the platform’s category and tagging features to properly classify each one.
Enforcement: Repeated violations of this policy may result in penalties including suspension or removal of the vendor’s account.

Product Quality and Authenticity

Accuracy: All products listed must be described accurately, including condition, specifications, dimensions, and available variations. Misrepresentation of products will result in penalties or listing removal.
Authenticity: Vendors may only sell authentic, legitimate products. Counterfeit, fraudulent, or stolen goods are strictly prohibited. Vendors found selling such items will face immediate suspension.
Safety: All products must meet applicable safety standards. Products posing a safety risk or failing to comply with applicable regulations will be removed from the platform.

Payment and Transaction Process

Direct Communication and Payment: Varsity Trades does not facilitate payments directly through the platform. All purchases are completed through direct communication between buyers and vendors via WhatsApp or other contact methods provided. Buyers and vendors must finalise payment terms, methods, and delivery arrangements independently.
Disputes: Varsity Trades is not responsible for resolving disputes related to payment, shipping, or product quality between buyers and vendors. All parties should maintain records of communication for reference in case of disputes.
Fraudulent Transactions: Varsity Trades has zero tolerance for fraudulent transactions. Vendors or buyers found engaging in fraudulent activities will be banned from the platform, and legal action may be pursued where necessary.

User Communication Policy

Communication Channels: Vendors and buyers are expected to communicate via the provided contact details for all enquiries, negotiations, and order placements. All communication must be respectful and professional.
No Spamming: Vendors are prohibited from sending spam, unsolicited advertisements, or promotional messages to other users through the platform or any direct communication channels.
Response Time: Vendors are encouraged to respond to buyer enquiries promptly. Poor communication or failure to engage with buyers may result in penalties or account suspension.

Penalties and Account Suspension

Violations: Any violation of these Terms will result in a review of the vendor’s account. Varsity Trades reserves the right to issue warnings, temporarily suspend, or permanently remove vendors who violate platform policies.
Account Review: Vendors found engaging in misconduct, fraud, misrepresentation, or selling prohibited goods will undergo an immediate review.
Appeals: Vendors who believe they have been wrongfully penalised may submit an appeal within 14 days of the penalty being issued. Appeals will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Multiple Accounts Policy

One Account Per Vendor: Each vendor is permitted to operate only one account on Varsity Trades. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent platform limitations is prohibited and will result in suspension or removal.
Linked Accounts: Varsity Trades reserves the right to link multiple accounts belonging to the same individual or entity and to take corrective action where policy violations are identified.
Appeals: Vendors who believe their accounts have been wrongly flagged as duplicates may appeal the decision by contacting our support team. All appeals will be reviewed promptly.

Prohibited Products and Services

Vendors are strictly prohibited from listing or promoting products or services that violate local, national, or university laws, or Varsity Trades’ policies. Prohibited items include but are not limited to:

Illegal drugs or controlled substances
Weapons, explosives, or hazardous materials
Counterfeit or pirated goods
Pornographic or adult content
Alcohol, tobacco, or related products
Items that promote hate speech, violence, or discrimination
Any product that infringes the intellectual property rights of others

Varsity Trades reserves the right to remove any listings violating this policy without prior notice. Vendors who repeatedly list prohibited items may have their accounts suspended or terminated.

Content and Image Guidelines

Accurate Descriptions: Vendors must provide clear, truthful, and accurate product descriptions. Misleading or false descriptions are prohibited and may result in listing removal or account suspension.
Image Quality: All product images must be high quality, properly lit, and accurately represent the product. Blurry, low-quality, or misleading images may be removed. Offensive or inappropriate imagery is strictly prohibited.
Consistency: All product information including price, details, and variations must be consistent between the product listing and images used.

Review and Rating System

Authentic Reviews Only: Vendors are prohibited from soliciting fake reviews, posting fraudulent reviews, or offering incentives in exchange for reviews. Any attempt to manipulate the review system will result in penalties.
Fair Ratings: Customers are encouraged to leave honest, fair reviews based on their genuine experience.
Review Removal: Varsity Trades reserves the right to remove reviews that violate platform policy, including reviews posted by vendors for their own products, reviews posted in exchange for incentives, or reviews containing hate speech or discriminatory content.

Refunds, Returns, and Disputes

Vendor Responsibility: Vendors must clearly outline their return and refund policies in their product listings. Vendors must honour their stated policies and must provide a refund in cases of damaged, defective, or misrepresented products where no policy is stated.
Dispute Resolution: Varsity Trades encourages direct resolution of disputes between buyers and vendors. Varsity Trades may intervene at its discretion but will not be held liable for any damages or losses incurred during transactions.
No Platform Liability: Varsity Trades is not responsible for handling refunds or returns. All financial transactions and arrangements are made directly between the vendor and the buyer.

Advertising and Promotion

Vendor Promotion: Vendors are encouraged to promote their listings using available platform features. Mass spamming, unsolicited messaging, or excessive posting is prohibited and may result in account restrictions.
External Promotion: Vendors may promote their Varsity Trades listings on external platforms. All external promotions must accurately represent the product and comply with Varsity Trades’ content guidelines. Misleading advertising is strictly prohibited.
Advertising Standards: Vendors may not use Varsity Trades to advertise products not listed on the platform or that violate our prohibited items policy.

Links to Other Websites

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services not owned or controlled by Varsity Trades. Varsity Trades assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. We advise you to read the terms and privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to all or any part of our Services at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, effective immediately. If you wish to terminate your Varsity Trades account, you may discontinue using our Services at any time. All provisions of this Agreement that by their nature should survive termination will do so, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Disclaimer

Our Services are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. Varsity Trades and its suppliers and licensors disclaim all warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Varsity Trades does not warrant that our Services will be error-free or that access will be continuous or uninterrupted.

Jurisdiction and Applicable Law

This Agreement and any access to or use of our Services is governed by the laws of Ghana. The proper venue for any disputes arising out of or relating to this Agreement will be the courts located in Greater Accra, Ghana.

Changes to These Terms

Varsity Trades reserves the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. Where changes are material, we will notify you by posting on our website or by sending an email before the changes take effect. We will aim to provide at least 15 days’ notice before material changes become effective. Your continued use of our Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
